The speed of light is the absolute value of the speed of propagation of electromagnetic waves and the limiting speed of particles in nature. This speed is about 300,000 km/s (more precisely, 299,792,458 m/s). An elementary massless particle that can exist moving only at the speed of light is a photon or a quantum of electromagnetic radiation. The light that we see every day, the light of our Sun – all these are photons, particles that have traveled a long journey of 150,000,000 kilometers from the Sun to the Earth at a fantastic speed in just 8 minutes. What is it like to fly at the speed of light? Nothing is impossible. In the video below, we ride a photon from the Sun all the way to Jupiter.
