There was an episode with Kalander Shah in the Turkish series “Magnificent Century”, which recently aired on our screens. Dervish Kalender Celebi announced his intention to fight against the Ottoman dynasty and began to call himself Kalender Shah. He raised about 30,000 peasants to revolt, but soon the Calender troops were defeated by government troops, and he himself was captured and beheaded.
But this episode is interesting not by the uprising of Kalender Shah, but by the song-prayer that the dervishes sang, having gathered in a secret cave. In the Indian film Jodha and Akbar there is also a scene with a very beautiful and heartfelt song of Sufi dervishes.
